Boom or Bust Player: Tyreek Hill (WR MIA)

Tyree Hill’s speed, reliability, and general play making ability make him a clear elite talent in the NFL. The only problem is talent only gets you so far when you have a QB carousel throwing you the ball. Hill struggled to consistently perform at his top gear with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined for an extended period after getting injured in week two against Buffalo. However, four of his five highest scoring weeks came in the 11 games Tua was active for, with three of those games going for more than 20 points. We have already seen what Tyreek can do when Tua is consistently in the lineup, as Hill finished as the WR2 in both 2022 and 2023 combining for nearly 240 receptions, 3500 yards, and 20 TDs over those two seasons. If Tua can stay healthy, Tyreek Hill Will be a top five WR. However if he doesn’t, Hill could fall as far as a back-end WR2. Still, if he’s there at the front end of the second round (which his ADP says he is in about half of leagues) I’m willing to take the risk.

Slept on Player: Keenan Allen (WR LAC)

It’s a sports tale as old as time: the veteran coming off an underwhelming season returns to their hometown and becomes a star. I don’t think Keenan Allen will become a star in his return to LA, as storybook as such may be, but he will be a very solid mid round pick for your team. Allen is one of just 12 players with over 10,000 receiving yards since 2010, and all but 744 of his 11274 yards have come with the Chargers. Additionally, Allen’s second highest single season yardage total came just two seasons ago in 2023, and he only played 13 games that season. Justin Herbert targeted Keenan Allen often in their four seasons, averaging 175 targets and 1323 yards per 17 games, and while Allen will now have to compete with Ladd McConkey for targets, I’m confident in him to finish as a solid WR3 in fantasy, who right now is being drafted as the WR73 across all platforms.
