Sleeper of the Year: Zach Ertz (WSH TE)

Zack Ertz was a quiet stud to have on your fantasy team last season. He finished the 2024 season 10th in fantasy points per game, and did not miss a game all year. Was he one to put up big numbers, no (though he did have four games with 15+ points on the year) but he made up for his lack of crazy high totals with his amazing consistency and high floor. Ertz only had four games all of last season where he didn’t score more than five points, and he left half those games early due to injury. The addition of Deebo Samuel to the roster will likely take some looks away from Ertz, but with Terry Mclaurin demanding a trade, Ertz could enter the season primed to have even more targets than he had last year. Another important stat to note is Ertz’s red zone usage. He had the fourth highest red zone target percentage of any tight end last year, behind just Trey McBride, George Kittle, and Hunter Henry. FantasyPros has Ertz ranked as the TE19 coming into the year, and he’s being drafted as the TE18 across all platforms. This means you could get a starter worthy TE extremely late in your drafts (with less than 18 TEs often being taken in even 12 person leagues) and use the higher draft capital on a RB/WR2 or QB upgrade.
